Thayer Brook Preserve (Gray)
Thursday May 5th, 2022 10:00 am to noon AND 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm
In April, RRCT unveiled Thayer Brook Preserve at Gray’s Town Council meeting. Join us on May 5th for our second set of public tours at our newest Preserve. We’ll have RRCT staff leading walks at 10:00am and 5:30pm to provide two different options for seeing a very special place. We hope to see you there!
Difficulty: Moderate, ~ 2.5 miles with roots and a few wet areas.
Directions: Near 118 Ramsdell Road, Gray. The Preserve is not yet marked, and parking is allowed in the old log yard, located on the right side of Ramsdell Road if driving away from Route 202. The log yard is between Hat Trick Dr. and Bud’s Lane. New Thayer Brook Preserve website with maps.

Elmwood Trails (Pownal)

Join us for a pleasant walk as spring continues to bring more and more life each day. Our destination will be a location along Chandler Brook where there are stone steps, added by RRCT’s trail crew in 2021, leading to the brook.
Difficulty: Moderate, ~ 2 miles with roots and a few small hills.
Directions: Park at the Tryon Mountain parking lot off Lawrence Road in Pownal.

Riverfront Woods (Yarmouth)

Will Riverfront Woods actually be this green by late May? Join us for a lovely loop at one of Yarmouth’s newest preserves. The Town of Yarmouth has been building a wheelchair-accessible trail and although it will not be completed by our walk, we’ll be able to see the progress and hard work of making our open spaces more accessible.
Difficulty: Easy, ~ 1.5 miles with roots
